I literally grew up in the packaging industry having started doing summer jobs in high school at Triangle Package Machinery Company in Chicago. Often referred to as a packaging geek and view grocery shopping as 'research'. I've also been told I'm nuts for liking shows so much. My first was PACK EXPO Las Vegas over 9/11 - will never forget that one.

My start in the industry began in January 2008, one day before getting on a plane for IPPE. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was uncertain I'd ever want to eat chicken again. As the resident 'Jack-of-all-Marketing', I've been fortunate to have a wide variety of marketing and event experience outside packaging as well; snowplows, batteries, pet food. Throughout it all, I'm happy to report I never stopped eating chicken.

I've been managing and executing trade shows and events for more than 25 years, so it's easy to understand why tennis shoes might just be my best friend. I've logged numerous miles walking the aisles of packaging, automotive and manufacturing trade shows on both the agency and client sides of the business. To this day, I can't make it down a full aisle without grabbing for some chocolate!

After a stint as an editor with industry manufacturing and food trade pubs, I went to the corporate (aka "dark") side, where I supported communications and PR efforts for leading building material and packaging suppliers. Seeing a product on the grocery store shelf that I've researched and written about never gets old. And as a self-proclaimed at-home chef, taste testing them doesn't either.
